Registration & Renewal Fees
Starting October 1st, 2023, there are no registration fees and no renewal fees!
Rate of Pay
Ontario's minimum wage applies for Non-Union and AABP with an 8-hour minimum pay, not including the unpaid lunch hour. (This means that if you only work two hours, you are still always paid for eight hours. Anything over eight hours will still pay Ontario’s minimum wage.)
Union rates apply for ACTRA Members, Full & Apprentice, as per the IPA.
Commission
Background Performers are required to pay a commission for the work they do.
All commissions are calculated on the SUB TOTAL GROSS earnings, not off the net, and are subject to 13% HST as per the CRA.
If you are paid extra for travel time, mileage, cars, dogs, tuxedos, gowns, bicycles, etc., this additional payment will be subject to commission.
The commission fees are as follows:
ALL PERFORMERS under 60yrs:
10% commission for regular background performances;
15% commission for commercials, music videos, upgrades, SSE vouchers, print, etc;
ALL Performers over 60yrs:
8% commission for regular background performances;
12% commission for commercials, music video AABP & Non-Union please note:

ACTRA Members please note:
We suggest you pay your commission as soon as you get your cheque in the mail.
You have one month, from your work date, to pay your commission or a late fee will apply. (e.g. If you worked on June 1 your commission must be paid to the agency before July 1)
Always send a scan or a photo of your pay stub and the voucher to accounting@showcatcher.ca. Once received, our accounting team will create and email you an invoice for the commission owed.

Cancellation Fee
If you are booked on a project and need to cancel, S.C.T. must be informed of the cancellation at least 24 hours in advance of your call time. Performers who cancel less than 24 hours before their work day will be charged a $30 Cancellation Fee. Performers who cancel less than 12 hours before their work day will be charged a $40 Cancellation Fee. Performers who cancel less than 8 hours before their work day will be charged a $50 Cancellation Fee.
Late Fee
If you are late to set and we are notified you will be charged a $15.00 Late Fee.
No-Show Fee
If you fail to show up for your work day you will be charged a $60.00 No-Show Fee.
Misbehaviour Fee
If you are sent home due to misbehaviour of any kind you will be charged $40.00.
Late-Payment Fee
If you don’t pay your commission within 30 days from your work day (and any fees you obtained from that work day) you will be charged $15.00 per month until your account is paid and up to date. This does not apply if your cheque arrives late from production.
