ON SET

When it comes to working as a Minor (under 18 years old) on set there are a few details you need to know.

• Minors must always be accompanied by an adult. One guardian for every Minor. If the guardian cannot be on set then they must appoint a chaperon to take their place. (e.g. grandmother, trusted neighbour, etc.)

• Minors will always have an assigned representative on set, designated by the Producer to coordinate all matters relating to the welfare and comfort of such Minors. If there are under 6 Minors, report to the BG Representative with any questions & concerns. If there are over 6 Minors on set, then a Minors Coordinator will be there to help you out.

• The Parent or Legal Guardian will need to fill out a Minors Engagement Form (see below) once they arrive to set, prior to the commencement of work. The Parent, Legal Guardian or Chaperon must also complete the Health & Safety Certificate in order to be on set with the Minor.

• Minors will always have their own food table, separate Minors change rooms, and a separate designated Minors holding/section.

• Minors are only allowed to work a certain amount of hours. The maximum a Minor can work depends on their age:

Under 12 years old - 8 hour maximum plus 1 hour unpaid lunch. (9hrs total)

12-15 years old - 10 hour maximum plus 1 hour unpaid lunch. (11hrs total)

16 & 17 years old - 12 hour maximum plus 1 unpaid lunch. (13hrs total)

18 years old and over - NO MAXIMUM.

If you are a guardian accompanying your child to set or needing to appoint a chaperon, right click and download these, print them off and sign them accordingly, and send/bring them to set with your child and the appropriate adult.

If you are a guardian of a Minor 16 or 17 years of age, you do not need to accompany your child to set, but you must still complete the forms and have your child bring them to set.

Please note; Minors do not pay the registration fee.
